Throw back to our collaboration with waved
Beginning of March, Hugo from Waved came by Newave. Throw back to a great shooting day!
9:30am : Hugo’s arrival in Newave’s office.
Firts goal of the day was for Hugo to get to know our facilities. Aftera little tour, we went straight into business: presentation of our boards, their qualities and defects. We go through every subject, including tough questions such as weight or stiffness. You can find all broached subjects in our FAQS if you are interested.
11:00am : Departure for Tools Surfboards
Dorian from Tools Surfboards is our Shaper partner at the Sables d’Olonne. For now, it is in his workshop that we develop our prototypes. Soon enough, we will have our own workshop. Let’s go see him with Hugo and take a few pictures!
1:00pm : Surf session in the Sables bay
After all this talking, Hugo couldn’t wait to try the board. Indeed, what’s better than testing it to build your opinion? Hugo and Ewen shared a really nice session with offshore wind in the bay. Alone at the peak and with enjoyable little waves. Anyway, perfect conditions to try Newave’s mini-malibu.
4:00pm: Debriefing of Hugo’s videos rushes and opinion:
Back to our facilities, Hugo and the team get to work on the rushes of the session. Waves are great, there will be enough to make a nice video! Finally, Hugo shares his impressions : « Great board! It’s like surfing a classic board. It’s just a little heavier. But honestly, it’s not disturbing, I had great sensations ».

This day ends with a smile on everyone’s face, so like Hugo, come by to meet us in the Sables d’Olonne. As for you Hugo, you are welcome back whenever you want!
