Newave surfboards models are two boards made for different conditions. They are suitable for all types of surfers. You don’t know which board to choose? Here are some elements of comparison:
The Newave longboard is an extremely flat board without rocker. Ideal for small soft waves, the board has an excellent paddling speed and allows you to surf the smallest waves up to 1.50m waves that are not too hollow.
The Newave mini Malibu has a little more rocker. The scooped nose and the lift at the tail allow the board to grip better in hollow waves. The board is therefore more versatile and allows the surfer to surf waves of all sizes. In conclusion, choose the demountable longboard if you are looking for a practical board, ideal for small summer conditions. Choose the demountable Mini-Malibu to surf all year round.
The longboard is a board suitable for an intermediate/advanced surfer. Its length makes it a more difficult board to handle than the mini malibu. On the other hand, once on the rail, the board has a very high stability which allows the surfer to go for the nose and perfect his crossed step.
The mini malibu is the surfboard to guide the surfer through his progression. The round tail allows it to draw large turns and the shape offers a good compromise between stability and maneuverability. So it’s just as well suited to the beginner as to the intermediate surfer looking to perfect his or her maneuvers.
In conclusion, choose the longboard if you want a large board with inertia. Choose instead a Mini-Malibu if you are looking for a more versatile model.
The backpack custom-designed for our boards is the same for both models. Indeed, the upper part of the bag rolls up so that the two boards can share the same bag.
But the size of the two demountable surfboards is not exactly the same. For the mini malibu, the dimensions of the backpack are: 85cm* 55cm*25 cm: The profile is divided into three pieces of equal sizes which allows to optimize the space requirement as much as possible.
For the longboard, the space requirement is a little larger. The dimensions of the bag are: 110*55*25cm.
Therefore, choose the mini malibu if you want the most compact board possible!
