The Mini Malibu Newave, the ultimate all-round board, combines stability and responsiveness. Perfect for progressing, it remains playful in hollow waves. Thanks to the Newave system, it can be disassembled and easily carried in its backpack. Ideal for beginner to intermediate surfers up to 1.50m.

Dorian handcrafts each board with the same level of care and performance as our classic models. He experiments with several techniques: tinted resins for a vintage look, spray paints for a smooth contemporary finish, or swirls — a controlled yet random blend of colored resins, one of Tools’ signature styles.
Each board is unique and can be customized to match your vision. This series of four matte finishes, both elegant and distinctive, was born from the encounter between NEWAVE’s design and Dorian’s artisanal expertise.
Newave boards are manufactured from 36kg/m3 EPS foam, fiberglass and epoxy resin.
The Newave fastening system is made from PA12, a high-performance polyamide specially designed for applications requiring excellent mechanical strength. It is a material similar to nylon, used for fishing nets in particular.
Fiber patches ensure bonding and stress transmission between the various board components.
The boards are strong and durable, and accompany the surfer on every surf trip!

The mini-malibu is perfect for beginner to intermediate surfers — it will support your progress every step of the way.
Its generous width offers excellent stability at first, making it ideal for perfecting your take-off and learning how to steer.
As you improve, its refined rails, lifted tail, and pronounced nose rocker allow you to catch all kinds of waves — even steeper ones.
Finally, the round tail combined with the thruster fin setup ensures smooth, stylish turns.

Starting with the 7’6 mini-malibu, you can expand your quiver by adding either a fish tail or a longboard nose:
•Add Part 1 to turn it into a Lazy Fish 5’10
•Add Part 6 to create a Long Fish or an 8’2 Malibu
To begin with, our boards are intrinsically environmentally friendly, since they allow you to choose more virtuous means of transport: 1000km by car avoided and the board is carbon neutral!
Secondly, we have thought through our design to reduce the carbon impact of manufacturing as much as possible. Unlike most boards, our process ensures there’s no waste. We use molded polystyrene foam blocks: no superfluous material is produced, which is not the case with most boards, which are machined from a block.
When you order your board, you’ll receive a backpack compatible with all Newave boards.
You can put your board, your wetsuit and all your little belongings in it.
Once the side straps are tightened, everything is compacted and nothing moves, preventing damage to the board during transport.
With your backpack, you also get several separators to prevent friction between the different pieces of your board.
