A look back at the collaboration with waved
Early March, Hugo Waved came to see us for the day. Here's a look back at a great day of filming!
9:30 a.m.: Hugo arrives at the Newave offices
The first objective of the day was to introduce Hugo to our premises. After a quick room tour, we got straight to the point: presenting the boards, their strengths, and their weaknesses. We covered all the topics, including sensitive issues like weight and rigidity. All these topics are also addressed in our FAQ if you'd like to learn more.
11am: Departure for Tools Surfboards
Dorian from Tools Surfboards is our shaping partner in Les Sables d'Olonne. We currently develop our prototypes in his workshop. Soon, we'll have our own manufacturing facility. Hugo and I will be visiting him to take some photos!

1 p.m.: Surfing session in the Bay of Sables
After all these discussions, Hugo was eager to test the board. Indeed, what better way to form your own opinion than a test in the water? Hugo and Ewen shared a great session with offshore winds in the Bay of Sables. Alone at the peak and with some nice small waves. In short, perfect conditions to test the Newave mini-malibu.

4pm: Debriefing of the video rushes and Hugo's opinion:
Back at the clubhouse, Hugo and the team quickly reviewed the footage from the session. The waves were great, there was plenty of material for a good video! Finally, Hugo shared his impressions: "The board is awesome! It feels like surfing a board made of one piece. It's just a little heavier. But honestly, it's not a problem, I had a great time."
The end:
We all left with a huge smile on our faces after this day, so, like Hugo, don't hesitate to come and see us in Les Sables d'Olonne, and you Hugo, come back whenever you want!
